Bhairav Se Bhairavi Tak | World Tour
November 2017- November 2018

Bhairav Se Bhairavi Tak was conceived as a unique musical journey celebrating the rich tradition of time-specific ragas in Hindustani Classical Music. The journey commenced in Banaras on 18 November 2017—the city that shaped the musical lives of Padma Bhushan Pandit Rajan Misra and Pandit Sajan Misra, and whose timeless cultural spirit continues to inspire generations of musicians.

Spanning 13 countries and 55 concerts, the tour reached renowned cultural venues and landmarks, including the birthplace of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in Kolkata, the ghats of Banaras, the Angkor Archaeological Park in Cambodia, Beijing, and cities across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe.

The central idea behind Bhairav Se Bhairavi Tak was to present the musical journey of the day—from the serenity of Raga Bhairav at dawn to the contemplative beauty of Raga Bhairavi at dusk. The project also sought to revive the tradition of morning and afternoon concerts, allowing audiences to experience ragas at the time of day for which they were conceived. This unique relationship between melody, time and nature remains one of the defining characteristics of

Indian Classical Music.

Beyond the concerts, the tour carried a larger aspiration. In a world increasingly marked by conflict, division and social fragmentation, it was envisioned as a humble effort to connect people across cultures through the universal language of music—affirming that art has the power to transcend borders and foster understanding.

The World Tour was officially supported by the Government of India, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and Air India.

This remarkable journey was made possible through the dedication and support of many individuals. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Pandit Kumar Bose, Pandit Dharmnath Mishra, Pandit Arvind Azad, Shri Sumit Mishra, Shri Vineet Vyas, Shri Shantilal Shah, Shri Sanju Sahai and Shri Nihar Mehta, along with the many friends, well-wishers and collaborators whose encouragement and contribution made this international tour possible.
